Is anyone else really surprised tickets are still for sale for all but one of the Euro dates? Is it the economy? Or are Euro fans really not that dedicated as they claim to be.

All bands are suffering at the moment. Having said that, I'm going to all 4 shows. Europe was never PJ's stronghold-Australia and America are.

Not really if you consider how many shows they usually fit into a relatively small space in Europe plus they aren't promoted at all. I suspect they allocated more tickets for the 10C this time.

The 4 are (very) big venues and the tickets went on sale rightaway. I think there won't be many left for the general sale. I think Ahoy will sell out within minutes again, once the regular sale starts.
groetjes, Mirella

In fairness Pj are only big in Oz 'cos they occassionally go there and not many of their contemporaries do, if any at all, so when they do, naturally it sells out. Australia & Ireland often get shafted by touring acts 'cos they're just too far away, and if the bands do come, we get shafted ticket price wise. It's ccome good here in the last ten years or so but not as much as I'd like.
The euro tickets will sell out&there'll be little if any promotion involved. That said England aside they aren't playing any of their strongholds in Europe, meaning Italy Spain and Portugal. Could be that.

U2 took a month or two to sell out their 3rd show in Ireland for this year. (Last time all 3 [same venue] sold out in minutes. Bruce Springsteen sold out 3 nights in the RDS in hours (the first 2 sold out in minutes, the 3rd took a few hours). This time out the 1st night sold out in minutes, the 2nd took weeks, so they're not adding a 3rd. Counting Crows usually sell out any venue they play in Ireland in minutes or days. They still haven't sold out the O2 yet. Neil Young usually sells out in days to a couple of weeks. His gig in the O2 is still not sold out.
I'm sure people from other countries or states can give more examples.
Most acts are suffering this year. It's the recession.

no, we are particularly dedicated, but after you make people wait 7 years and then do a set like they did at wembley in 07, you piss everybody off. word gets around.

PLEEEASE Noi, you were told to keep the bitching in the relevant thread, now you're just being an asshole and after pages of your shit & abusing everybody in the O2 thread for not agreeing with you in that thread, you're off here now? and after warnings from mods? i'd say you're not only skating on really thin ice but you're definitely making a cunt outta yourself. Grow up for fucks sake.

As I posted in an earlier thread, I saw PJ play at the same Berlin venue during the 2000 tour and it was nowhere near sold out. I don't think this is anything particularly strange.
Also, I think that certain markets in Eurpope are more accustomed to purchasing tickets closer to the day of the show rather than several months in advance.
