Check your local music channels this weekend. VH1 and MTV2 are airing specials.

http://videogamemedia.com/articles/news/2703

Premiering on Saturday, March 21st at 2:30pm ET/PT on VH1 Classic, “Pearl Jam Ten Revisited” takes you on a half-hour look back at Pearl Jam’s seminal debut album, Ten that brought alternative rock to the mainstream by showcasing videos for “Even Flow,” “Alive,” “Porch” (from the band’s Unplugged performance), and the television premiere of the uncensored version of “Jeremy.” With the help of archival footage and interviews from the band the viewer will be taken back to the early 90’s to reflect on the album’s importance to alternative music. VH1 will air the special “Pearl Jam Ten Revisited” on March 25th at 11:00am ET/PT.

Pearl Jam fans also won’t want to miss MTV2’s “Rock the Deuce” beginning on Monday, March 16th through Thursday, March 19th at 8pm ET/PT and on Saturday, March 21st at 1am ET/PT when the network airs cover performances of Pearl Jam classics by artists including:

• Aaron Lewis of Staind – “Black”
• William Beckett of The Academy Is… – “Jeremy”
• Hoobastank – “Evenflow,” “Alive” and “Oceans”
• P.O.S. – “Why Go”

In addition, MTV, VH1 and VH1 Classic will celebrate Pearl Jam through the end of the month by airing blocks of other Pearl Jam music videos and feature videos and editorial on MTV.com, MTV2.com and VH1.com, as well as VH1 Classic. VH1.com and VH1Classic.com will also be celebrating the re-release of Ten by streaming the full album the week of release.

Well, the word "deuce" is in the title. What would you expect from MTV these days? Hopefully the VH1 thing will be decent enough.

This thing was actually pretty decent. I just caught a 3:00 AM showing on regular VH1. Vh1 Classic has been having it on like once every 12 hours. Their next showing is today at 12 PM EST. It wasn't just showing the videos, and splicing in a few bits of the EPK video to fill time. I mean, parts of the recent EPK were involved, but there's lots of old MTV interviews and other stuff. I'd forgotten how happy/non-cynical Ed used to be when they first started. Nothing earth-shattering, but I would definitely recommend checking this out at some point (it seems to have a million different air times). Unfortunately, it appears the airing I just saw was regular VH1's only "preview" before the date/time in the press release (I don't know why VH1 and MTV always do that. They say the premiere is so and so, and then they go ahead and show it one time before that)...
