Well, when the original tracklist leaked, "Sad" was listed as "Letter to the Dead" (it would later circulate in bootleg form under the same name).
After getting the album and listening, I just assumed the song that was originally listed as "Letter to the Dead" had been changed to "Light Years," apparently oblivious that "Light Years" was on the original tracklist too.

As much as I love retracking this album, I've never listened to this "original" tracklisting. Or wait... have I? If I have I really don't ever remember doing it. So either I never have, or it did absolutely zero for me.

I still like the official tracklisting best, but I've enjoyed this original one too.
Agreed. The original I like just because it has so many great songs (I actually add Gods Dice to the tracklist too), but it doesn't have the flow of the official.

I don't know; that initial tracklist that they had seems really long, and Binaural has a very focused atmosphere it sets up, despite the variety of music styles you find on it. I don't know if bunching 7 or 8 slow, atmospheric songs in a row near the end would be better.
I'll give it a try, though. Never have done it that way.

Including the Parting Ways/Education ending?
Absolutely.
To be honest, I've never been crazy into Parting Ways and I actually prefer Education to close to the album out. It kind of gives it a circular feel, like starting the album again would make a lot of sense at that point.

Though I prefer the official tracklisting, I hear what you're saying about Parting Ways/Education closing it out and giving it that circular feel. I kind of like it.

Agreed. The frustrating part of trying to set this up on my ipod is the "Writers Block" section following Parting Ways. I really like Education as the closer though.

1--open up the song 2--right click on song 3--go to get info 4--click on the options tag 5--click the stop time and set it to where you want it to stop. I have mine set to 3:43 but that's a fairly abrupt stop and given what you're trying to set up I don't know how much space you want between it and Education
