Comatose is my favourite so far, but I really like Life Wasted as well.

mike is soloing all over the place on severed hand, life wasted, and comatose. He's definitely a presence

And eddie defintiely woke up from his riot act slumber. The vocals are VERY raw and may not be for everyone but they are passionate.

the ones i'm most excited about (the last three, gone studio) are still unheard so i'm reserving judgment at this point.

OK: Heard the 4 leaks all now...

Hmmm... Um... Rock on.

Parachutes is gonna take some getting used to. By the end of the song, it's found, takes some getting there, though. this just probably means it will get better with every listen. Kinda ends sudden.

Life Wasted: Yeah, ultimate album opener, kicks right up. Then a great little break in the middle, back to the kick and great outro solo. Fucking blasts.

Severed Hand: The best riff I've heard since Yield. Vocals are different, again, takes some getting used to, but by the end, it all fits. Easily my fav so far.

Comatose: Same song as the live version. Little different lyrics. Very Vitalogy, almost has a Whipping feel to it. Ed is raspy and rough. Punk rock.

Can't wait for the studio Gone. Worldwide Suicide's gonna be a filler at best. Still love Unemployable. Stands up well to these, even compliments 'em. These are gonna fit great together.

I love all of em. "Life wasted" is fantastic..........."Comatose" fricken rocks!!!! "severed Hand"..................took 3 listens to go from.........pretty cool to..........wow!!!!! Parachutes...........well let's be honest........very Beatles..........but shit it's excellent. I've loved everything from Pearl Jam, but put these 4 with WWS and Unemployable, and it's already far better than anything since "Yield". Not that I didn't love "Binaural" and "Riot Act", but......crap.........this is rockin' out quite a bit more! :D

Thanks to those who came to my assistance, and...my god....Severed Hand and Comatose are both awesome....can't wait to hear these songs mastered. This is going to be a crazy record.

I've noticed a few lyrical references that seem to appear and reappear. There's a big wave reference in one of those songs, and a few others I forget in my excitement.

Severed Hand is my current favourite. I don't find the riff as godlike as others here do but the whole song is very cool.

Ed's vocals are all the over place, agreed? Raw, loud, soft on other tracks, layered....i still need to warm to these tracks too new too new

The opening bit of Severed Hand reminds me of Sigur Ros, especially the Intro track on Agaetis.

I like them all.

Severed Hand needs to be a single.
Girlfriend likes Parachutes and she hates Pearl Jam...

bear in mind everyone that these are not yet mastered tracks either.

Based on what I've heard so far I predict this album will end up tied for Yield in the middle of the pack for me. Not quite as good as the first three but much stronger than no code, riot act, and binaural. In a perfect world it could catch Vs for the coveted bronze medal

I still like unemployable best.

me too...

i find Parachutes fairly bland musically truth be told... not nearly as boring as Thumbing My Way or anything, but stll will kill a setlist some if it's in the main set. Ed strains too much to try and hit some falsettos at times and it doesn't work for me.

after Unemployabel, my fave is Comatose (fuck, their most raw song since STBC imo), then Severed Hand, WWS, Life Wasted, then Parachutes.
