What could possibly explain the rash of no-neck earring wearing 30 year old man-children and the drunk assholes at the last few eV shows? What's different?

Mass mid life crisis guys reliving their youth? I have some boots from the last tour and it's utterly sickening the amount of hollering and random yelling and it's almost constant! If I were Ed i'd imagine he has a pretty dim view of us as a whole.

I don't see what stupid assholes shouting inappropriately has to do with random seating.. If anything, the shouters were not in the front.

I tend to grasp at straws sometimes, but I feel like the lotto system limited people "touring with the band" and (here comes the snobby stuff) diluted the fan base for the shows. It feels really whiny and entitled when I type it out, but the crowds in b-more were so different, inferior, from my previous experiences at 30+ shows... something must have changed... And it's not just "Baltimorons" because i have been to plenty of concerts there as well.

This is something the frames & swell season deal with and it's happened to ed now to, to a degre..if you talk to the crowd, be it little stories or whatnot, a percentage of the audience think it's a dialogue they can take part in, and that coupled with the fact they're excited makes for a painful, often embarrassing experience for the performer and the friends of the guys doing the yelling. But as bateman just pointed out, most people are just fucking morons.

PJ fans expect loud, noisy, raucuous shows. I think people may have trouble making the leap between an arena and an initmate theater, espeically if they don't normally see bands that would play in a venue like that

yeah really, there should be a rule that people that haven't seen the band at least 10 times previously cannot buy tickets. go find another band, suckers.

d'oh, I thought about random sitting when you said lotto had forgotten about the ticket allocation (since I didn't participate..nor could have)
but regardless, there was no lotto the previous 2 EV tours and it was the same shit from stupid people.

The lack of man-grandpa hip replacement candidates in the front

Spoke to a friend today who was at his last 2 shows and he DID actually ask them in no uncertain terms to shut the fuck up several times, but the yelling continued..fucking assholes no other explanation for it..ruins it for ed, the crowd and any potential recordings he'd ever consider putting out of these shows..braindead yokels who shouldn't be allowed even into the venue..hate that yelling crap altogether.

I think it's the stupid fucks that are yelling don't know how to act in a intimate venue like a theatre, they are expecting a rock show in an Arena. But a theatre isn't the venue for a Arena type show.
People are stupid. Thinking that all venues should be all the same atmosphere.

Its just as annoying when other fans tell the drunken assholes to shut up.
There definitely should be someone to take the stage before Eddie comes on to address the crowd and remind them that they're in a theater and not an arena.
But the problem probably isn't the lottery system, because most fan club members seem to be respectful to a degree. Its the people who buy their seats from Ticketmaster and think its just another rock show.
If you really wanted to cut down on the drunken yelling then the venues should stop serving alcohol. That's a harsh thing to do, but when there are signs that say "4 beer maximum" at the concession stands, of course you're going to get people who think this is their chance to have a dialogue with Eddie after several drinks.
