and the current state of all things PJ based off the recent interviews/reviews, but some of the "fans" on this board and elsewhere can do nothing but whine, gripe and complain.
Hmm.
Wonder what that says about the haters?
They obviously must be so much smarter, more talented, better songwriters, more righteous and know what PJ should sound like and be doing better than Ed, Matt, Stone, Jeff, Mike, Brendan O'Brien and Curtis Management do.
I guess putting out nine LPs in 18 years, playing hundreds of sold-out shows across the globe, releasing a gazillion bootlegs and possibly being the only band that's lasted 18 years and never played a bad show or truly phoned it in just don't hold the same weight that it used to.
Stone: "We're happy and we're excited about the record. The band's in good spirits ... we're all pretty excited about the potential of this record."

you really think they'd come out and say something like:
yeah we made this new album, it's OK... got some decent tracks, some snoozers. but ultimately we found 11 to throw together and call an album so we can go out on tour and never play 80% of them ever again. oh and, please buy the record.

I'd still buy it.

I don't know, it just seems like the natural order of things. I'm personally grateful fans like you still exist, this fandom would be pretty damn depressing otherwise.

Don't force Red Mosquito fans to view that other board.

I thought it was at the 311 message board or a sec. The fanboys over there are like this and there's a lot of them. Unless it's the best album of all time, you're not a true fan.
As for Pearl Jam...I might hate it, love it, or think it's so so. And no matter what, I'll probably come here to read and talk about it. I hope everyone else does the same!!
As for "The Fixer," things can only get better, right?

that they feel differently about the music than PJ/radio/press?
i'm pretty sure that's one surefire conclusion you can make, probably the only surefire one.
PJ has been pumped about every album, btw. I don't see why that should dictate how I feel about it. Alan Moore has said that his seminal Batman/Joker work The Killing Joke is "clumsy, misjudged, and [devoid of] real human importance," and that he doesn't think it's "a very good book. It's not saying anything very interesting." That doesn't mean I can't hold it in high regard. The opposite is also true. An artist thinks something is great. Well, I'm glad they can form an opinion. So can I lol!
