Come to think of it, though, The Civil Wars are a Grammy shoo-in--a faithful and well-executed but wooden and characterless modernizing of an American tradition. It's Norah Jones all over again. (I'm of the mind that Norah Jones had better songs, but still.)

For real. I'm really happy he said that, and he got people in the audience to applaud. Some even stood. Pro Tools is a cool thing, but look at all the classic rock music that was made with 2, 4, and 8 track recorders based on a few passionate takes until they got a great feel. That's totally lost on modern artists.
