I was just flicking through five horizons and was reading about stuff like pinkpop 92 where he jumps in the crowd and stuff like that do you think ed would kinda be ashamed of himself for doing stuff like that now or what?

i think at pinkpop and earlier, he wasn't such a cultural icon, and the crowds embraced him and treated him like any other performer (with the occassional tug on the hair or the rip in the clothes)
but i think after he made the cover of Time and he became this messiah figure, stage diving became less attractive on the basis of what people did or would potentially do to him.
i know he's had a few moments when he did it post 1995, and that's pretty cool and communicates he still likes doing it, but i think at least in one of those instances, he duct taped his entire body and then made the plunge to protect himself/clothes

Anyone see the Saratoga DVD yet or actually go to the show. I watched this DVD last night and at the end of porch Ed almost jumps into the crowd but the security dude pulls him back before he can fall in. I just wonder if he would have went in and crowd surfed a bit if the security guy hadn't done that.
