Really enjoying this one. I like the mini breakdown at the 1:19 mark...it kinda reminds me of what they did in Hitchhiker and Marker In The Sand, but much shorter than either of those songs.
Gonna See My Friend f*cking rocks!!! It hit me like a tonne of bricks last night driving home from work.
I think this might be one of the best hard rock tunes I've heard in the last decade. I think I underrated how great this song is and I believe that it should be their second single now. I'm totally blown away by that tune...dare I say, the best opener of any of their albums to date? I know I'll catch some flak for saying that but this song is mind blowing.
Im gonna have to disagree. I think the opening chords are awkward, ESPECIALLY for an album opener. The rest 2 minutes and 45 seconds are amazing though.

I don't like the stock blues riffs at the beginning of the song, but this one has a killer bridge that elevates the rest of the song. My favorite opener since Brain of J.

It is "Gonna See My Friend", singular, not plural friends, right? ESPN just played it again on Sportscenter, and it said "Friends", and the Backspacer album poll has it as this also...

Now go to your room and think about what you've just done.

One of the best on the record, for me. Top 3-4 if not my favorite.

Loving this song more than ever. Mike's lead guitar during the verses is among my favorite things that PJ have ever done. I could listen to that ALL DAY.
