Well? Are we getting any this time or are they saving them for another Lost Dogs? After none for S/T I'd love a few extra tracks spread out over the next year or so.
Would be cool if the EP they're talking about opened up with the backing orchestral score from The End [the one played at some of Ed's solo shows], kind of picking up from where the first album left off. It could've made a good "reprise" or hidden track for Backspacer too, but I get why they would not want to go there on this album.

I'm almost certain in one of the video interviews for Backspacer Ed completely nixed the idea of any EP coming shortly.
He basically said yeah, there's songs left over as they wrote a lot of stuff for the album, but they're going to use those to go straight into a new album rather than a stop-gap EP.
I would assume whoring them out would mean to use them to make extra money, like making one an itunes bonus track, one on a "special limited edition" and one come packaged with backspacer beer coasters of something.. although i would probably buy backspacer coasters...
Puttting them directly on an EP containing only new material certainly isnt whoring them out..

I wouldnt mind this as long as the album came out within a year.
who wants to wait another 3 years for some songs they wrote 4 years prior? That wouldn't fit with the new material anyway.

I agree with you but it's exactly what Ed said in response to another B-side album. He said working on a new "galvanized" group is more appropriate. Not to say they wouldn't take some material they already have. They had tons left over from S/T yet i doubt any of Backspacer are B-Sides from it.
