A better source is up on dime.

Great stuff. I would have prefered Amongst the Waves to The Fixer, but what can you do?

The one I REALLY REALLY want is a very small session the band did back in Novemeber 2002 around the release of Riot Act for Virgin radio, which no one seems to know about.

Fixer sounded great. You could tell got some was rough the morning after a 3 hour show

The end was beautiful too.

I wish eddie would spend more than 30 minutes on a lyric. He can come up with amazing lyrics (a pretty sizeable chunk of my favorite lyrical moments are from him) but it's usually this one moment rather than an entire song, and even their best songs have those one or two flat lines that he don't need to be there. Draft your lyrics in 30 minutes if you have to, but come back to them

The mix is pretty bad though. The vocals are barelly audible in some parts of Got Some.

I'm not one to criticise Ed's voice, and I generally hate when people do that, but his vocals on The End genuinely sounded rough here.. really rough on the high notes of the chorus. He doesn't hit them.

That said, my GF remarked that this made the delivery sound more emotional and heartfelt.. like he found it painful to sing. So, rather than criticising, I'll take her point of view and say it was a powerful performance.

I think the vocals are raw on all of the versions of The End i've heard. I agree though that they add to the song. I suspect it's intentional. He knows what he can and cannot hit. Im sure he could have rewritten the melody to fit in his sweet spot.

It's as if he is saying " here i am for better or worse".

Yeah, you're right. He could've tuned it down if he'd wanted to.. god knows he tunes down other stuff ;) So yeah, good on him.

I do think he deliberatly tries to give it that "broken" feeling.
Cause if he would just sing those high notes a tad louder he'd hit them with no trouble.
But instead he tries to sing it as gentle as he can, thus making those high notes more "emotional"
