I was watching TV about an hour ago and commercial came on for Backspacer, promoting that it is "Now available at Wal-Mart". I saw another similar one, only it was for HMV instead of Wal-Mart.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

I didn't know HMV was American.. It's available at HMV in the UK, but that's because the album isn't a Target exclusive anywhere else in the world.

I checked Walmart online, it's not listing backspacer, does list 19 or so other Pearl jam cd's.

In Canada, backspacer is available at numerous stores, it's not exclusive - from pearljam.com,

Target Exclusive is only in the United States.
