Just Breathe

Yes, I understand that every life must end
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go
Oh I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the ones I love
Some folks just have one
Yeah, others, they've got none

Stay with me
Let's just breathe...

Practiced on my sins, never gonna let me win
Under everything, just another human being
I don't wanna hurt, there's so much in this world to make me believe

Stay with me
You're all I see...

Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me

As I come clean...
I wonder everyday, as I look upon your face
Everything you gave
And nothing you would save

Nothing you would take
Everything you gave...

Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me
As I come clean I...

Nothing you would take
Everything you gave
Hold me til I die
Meet you on the other side...
Oh if I didn't, I'm a fool you see

Here goes Ed, melting hearts and all that.

I like the clip of the promo better than the Verizon ringtone. Those strings sound a little over-the-top to me. I really feel this one though. I guess we'll see how the album version turns out. Does anyone else think that some of Backspacer might feel like an Ed solo album?

Whoa, that ringtone clip sounds epic, like he could've gone all out on ITW, but held back for the stripped-down acoustic sound instead. That German mag said it was drenched in strings. I hope it starts out as an acoustic ballad and then the strings gradually come in and it builds into something.

In the promo video, its funny to watch Jeff bob his head to such a delicate song. And it excites me to hear him say such positive things about the lyrics considering Eddie allegedly wrote them all.

This album is going to be really special, or its going to sound incredibly jumbled and without any cohesion given the different styles of all the songs we've heard thus far.

34 days left!! :D

Could be good, but Ed's delivery is really going to have to grow on me in this one.

This sounds like it could be lovely.

"Fixer" aside, I'm now really excited for Backspacer.

This is the same sentiment I had for speed of sound. Needless to say, that did not grow on me. It might, fingers crossed.

Bad Radio, I think the end lyric is "If I didn't, I'm a fool you see"

Yeah I'm not sure about the vocal delivery either but we'll see, could be good.

Jeff has obviously never listened to The Fixer, but it's encouraging to hear.

I still feel like they're two different songs.

Musically they both could make sense together in my head, it's just these two bits of audio sound very different - one is live, (practically) solo and natural, and the other polished with more backing.

It's ot even the audio that's different, I just can't piece those 2 bits together.

well, this is just a crazy statement. jeff is in the band! how could he have not heard the fixer!????

and they've been playing it live, so unless he's gone totally deaf very recently, which you'd think we'd have heard about, there's just no way he hasn't heard the fixer yet. i'm sorry, but on this one i gotta disagree. not calling you a liar or anything, just saying i have a hard time believing the bass player that's in the band never listened to a song by his band that he himself has already played many times over.

maybe when he got mugged that made him deaf.

but no, i still don't see it. i need more proof than that.

It's obviously the same song, Chud. Something's wrong with you.

I think Jeff was referring only to the "Just Breathe record" when he made his "Best Lyrics EVA!" claim, although I could see how that could be misinterpreted.....
