Here were go with Track Five of the RM Ultimate Pearl Jam Mix

The results for track four:

1 In My Tree(20)
2 Given To Fly(19)
3 Tremor Christ(8)
4 Light Years(7)
5 Why Go(2)
6 Glorified G(1)
7 Cropduster/Severed Hand/Johnny Guitar(0)

Track four was far and away the most contentious yet, with In My Tree juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust edging out Given To Fly 20-19. Tremor Christ and Light Years also have strong showings, this one came down to wire and spawned some great debate, let's hope the upcoming tracks bring more of the same.

The RM Ultimate Pearl Jam mix so far:

1 Last Exit
2 Hail, Hail
3 Alive
4 In My Tree
5
6
7
8
9
10
11
12
13

Now for Track five, here are the choices:

Black, Dissident, Nothingman, Smile, Wishlist, Nothing As It Seems, Ghost, Marker In The Sand, Just Breathe

This one is really tough for me, and it comes down to Black and Nothing As It Seems, I honestly cant make my decision yet, so I'm going to wait on my vote.

I like all of those songs (excluding wishlist of course) but for different reasons.

The one that has been in my top 5 since day one is Nothingman so i'll go with that

Should we just put Black in this spot and move on to track 6?

it's black or nothingman

I'm voting for black, but both deserve it

OK, I just gave a good listen to both tracks, and as much as I love Black and think it is one of the best songs the band has done, my vote is for Nothing As It Seems.

NAIS brings me somewhere and moves me in a way Black dosent, again as much as I love the song. I love everything about NAIS, the lyrics penned by Jeff, Eddie's vocals, the weird bass sound, Mike's soloing, Stone's acoustic work, Matt's slow drumming, all of it. The binaural recording does more for this song than it did for any other from the Binaural album. Black may be the better live song, it definetely is actually, but after listening to the studio versions of first black, then NAIS, I just knew I had to go with it, understanding it dosent stand much of chance to win.

BLACK

Not only is it the repeat champion of RM March Madness but it's the song that made me fall in love with PJ. All of the track 5 options have upsides, but Black is just something special. It's held the #1 spot for me for almost 20 years. If In My Tree couldn't dethrone it, I can't imagine that any song ever will. This song is just perfection. Pure and simple.

1. Black

2. Just Breathe (this is premature, maybe, but I can't shake this tune)
3. Nothingman

4. Smile
5. Marker In The Sand
6. Dissident

7. Wishlist
8. Nothing As It Seems

9. Ghost

Nice write up.

I used to feel the same way about NAIS, but the song hasn't aged for me as well as I expected it to. I still think it's one of the best songs on Binaural, but I like it less now than I did nine years ago.

I'm voting for Smile, though Black will win this by a landslide.
