Okay, it's probably never going to happen but what if ??
Let's face it, Cornell career is on a dead end now eventhough I believe he will release great music in the future now is not his best time . For the first time in 12 years the remaining Soundgarden members sans Cornell shared a stage some months ago (that tadgarden thingy). Ever since then the reunion rumours are popping up again. And maybe a boxset bla bla bla.
So what will happen with PJ when Cornell decides to call his old friends, from what it seems Matt is the only one who's involved with another band right now and could face a dilemma.

Matt ain't leaving PJ. maybe he might join SG if they can work around PJ's commitments but I think if he has to chose, it''ll be PJ. anyway, I don't really see SG reforming.

I think it would be stupid for Cameron to leave PJ, and I'm a big Soundgarden fan. He's in a good position with Pearl Jam - they're still popular and still making records, of which he has quite a substantial role in writing. Soundgarden is too good to be lumped with all these nostalgia reunion tours. They ended on a high note so they shouldn't tarnish that.
And uh...I kinda liked Cornell's new album. In fact I love it.

Listen, I know this sounds crazy. But chris cornell was obducted by Aliens sometimes between the years 1998 and 2000. What we see and know today is not chris cornell. It is a alien life force that has no memory of the former person known as chris cornell. And even if this alien was to get information from the mothership about reforming the band known as soundgarden. it would have to be a tour sponsored by the the jean company of alien's taste.

I read an interview where Matt said something like, "I love being in a band where the guys actually LIKE playing live." Sounds like SG either took themselves too seriously around 94-96 or didn't like touring for some reason. They rocked on that DOTU tour and I enjoyed Chris when Audioslave came around.
Matt wouldn't leave PJ for anything. He's writing and playing songs with the best band on the planet. He ain't going nowhere.

This is what Chris said about that in a 1996 interview:
"We really enjoy it to a point and then it gets tedious, because it becomes repetitious. You feel like fans have paid their money and they expect you to come out and play them your songs like the first time you ever played them. That's the point where we hate touring."

Thats what he said before being abducted.Anything that he said at that that time really doesnt matter. He used to to say that there were some songs that cause they were to comercial he just putted them away.Ask him now what he thinks about it.

I never understood the hate for Audioslave. They weren't the most adventerous of bands, but they made three solid rock records. Carry On was dreck but I think if you can get past some of the shit (Part Of Me is the worst song he has ever recorded) then Scream is a great album and not a car crash.

What an ass hat. I'd read that before and forgot it. You've got this talent, you write the songs that people love and then you are going to get annoyed with them for wanting to hear you play them after they paid 50 dollars to see you?

this sounds like the metal archives metallica biography (only it picks late 80s not late 90s)

I get Cornell's point a little bit here: You're constantly playing the same songs over and over to the point where you eventually check out and go on autopilot. You think Pearl Jam feels completely stoked to be playing Even Flow for the billionth time? But its the fault of Soundgarden if the touring got stale. That's why I hate seeing bands that play stock setlists, because you can tell they're at work and not playing for the sheer love of it.
They only way I could see Soundgarden reforming is if Ben and Kim actually pushed for one. Matt and Chris have been steadily working with high profiles since Soundgarden broke up. If Ben and Kim need that kind of financial help, then I could see it happening, but none of us know anything about their situations, so its a little unfair to speculate that they might need the money. Chris has stated that he doesn't want to do one and Matt seems happy in Pearl Jam. I can't see that changing in the near future.
