I just saw “The World of Pearl Jam” on iTunes (http://bit.ly/3YWrUi). Has anyone else browsed around on there? Anyone else kind of offended by it? If you click on the legacy section it talks about all the (sucky) bands that have been "influenced" by PJ. I just found it kind of insulting that they were grouping PJ with Creed and Nickelback! (insert vomiting smiley face here)
Sure there is no denying that those bands are heavily influenced by pj, but the fact that an official pearl jam itunes page is promoting that fact kind of sucks. I'd rather not have a pearl jam site tell me "hey if you like our music, you might enjoy that new nickelback song!" At least pick some influenced artists that the band actually likes (although kings of leon made it on the list).

haha
that wasn't really my point... i'm not a fan of using itunes either, and almost always find new music through other avenues. the point was the fact that pearl jam was in a way trying to selling music like creed and nickelback to other pearl jam fans

I don't think you need to be thinking of it as an official Pearl Jam thing, though. iTunes is in charge. And there's no denying that a lot of really bad groups used PJ as a major influence. It's part of our cross to bear as fans.
