Awesome. Thanks, man. This was a lot of fun. I really dig both of those mixes.

Nice job. Second one is better, imo. First one is good until after track 8, then it softens up way too much.

For me what this exercise did was make you realize how massive Pearl Jam's catalog is, how many great songs they've written and recorded. I found myself finding a new respect for some songs after seeing how many votes they got and giving them a better listen, No Way is a perfect example of that. I always considered No Way kind of a filler track on Yield, but after seeing it get some votes and listening to it a little more, I've come to really like it.

I think what this does is provides us with a ready-to-go PJ mix tape that you could give to someone who doesn't know the band and it would give them a very good introduction to the band. What's cool about this over a greatest hits mix is that the songs still create a nice flow of energy like an album would in terms of opener, rockers, more emotional middle section and closers, etc.

Of course, this is missing all the b-sides and Lost Dogs out there. Any PJ best-of mix missing "Hard To Imagine" is completely invalid to me.

Those are still two sweet comps.

Three closers at the end kills it.

As good as both of those mixes are, I don't think they flow well. We did do something like this a couple of years ago and there were some GREAT mixes created.

Oh he was definitely the god at pearl jam mix tapes, and pretty much my hero at tournament threads around here.

Yeah I remember that mix being one of my favorites. I still think mine holds up rather well. ;)

Agreed! I'm making a playlist of both, then another that's a combo of the two.

Yeah. Those are 3 excellent songs, but don't really work next to eachother.

I like the "second team" much better.

Yeah it's funny how that worked. Team 2 flows 10x better than the first one. When I was jotting them down, when it was over, I looked and was like holy shit this closes way better than the first one. Of course my votes were for about half of the team 2 tracks anyway.

Actually I like the 1st one better. The 2nd one seems more herky jerky to me.
