i wrote a paper about this guy a couple weeks ago (i really didnt want to write the paper at all cause it was sort of a dumb topic, but i ended up picking him). i wouldve really liked to have this article at that time.

So they ended up writing around 28 songs for Avocado? (At least the instrumentals)

Thanks for scanning that in. We don't hear enough from Matt. Judging by his playing on Backspacer, I should've known; but it's great to hear in his own words how committed and proud he is to be in pearl jam. I must confess, being a fan of many bands over the years, I've never cared much one way or the other if they have the same drummer or not. Going from Abbruzzese, to Irons, to Cameron didn't even phase me that much. I mean, I could tell the differences in style, but still. Now, however, I can state with certainty if Matt left the band, I would be a lot less interested in them. And anytime I introduce pearl jam to someone, they never cease to be amazed by Cameron's drumming. He's also been a terrific songwriter, going all the way back to his Soundgarden and WWC days. Not that he hasn't written below-average songs. But then again, what band member hasn't at some point?

Yeah i believe a couple ended up being turned into Backspacer songs.
At least Supersonic was based on one Ed interview. I don't remember the source.

Great Article! Not sure how Tchad Blake became Chad Lick and there were some other spelling/grammar mistakes, but really cool and informative. Interesting to see how much BO'B brought to the tracks.

I just added a little sheet music part I initially missed. Its the last scan. Kinda cool to see that the Fixer is in 5/4 and 6/4.
