And this band might be better than it has ever been before. I couldn't believe my eyes or ears last night. Just absolutely incredible that they are so damn good at this point in their career.

That setlist last night was off the f-ing hook. Aside from Hold On, when I recognized Tremor Christ, In Hiding, Deep, and Off He Goes, I just could not believe it was happening.

Agreed. Better and better everytime, but this year they've reached a whole new level of amazing.
I haven't been seeing them live long enough to say how they really compare in that way to the old days, but I agree this tour something amazing is happening in terms of the maturity of this band letting them reach levels that so few bands ever get to. The complexity, the richness, the intensity, the love. Every moment just feels right, so real and so accomplished and rare and so gritty and down to earth at the same time. Unbelieveable.

Ed sounds fantastic here.
I just don't get how a band can go almost 20 years of touring without playing a song like this. It's not their best, but it's definitely good enough to get it's fair share of time.

"Old timer, old timer... Too late to die young now Old timer, five and dimer, Trying to find a way to age like wine somehow.
My new stuff is nothing like my old stuff was And neither one is much when compared to the show Which will not be as good as some other one you saw So help me I know, I know, I know

I've met every fool that ever signed their name upon these walls In the backs of all these beer joints and concert halls I've been through seven managers, five labels, A thousand picks and patch cables, Three vans, a band, a bunch of guitar stands, And cans and cans and cans of beer And bottles of booze and bags of pot And a thousand other things I've forgot I thought that I'd be dead by now...

Agreed. They haven't sounded this good since the early naughts (2000s).

Amazing this year but they aren't better and better everytime. If that was the case 2006 would have sounded better than 03, 00, and 98. Obviously it didn.t

I think they sounded better in 06 than in 00 and possibly 03.

Well it seems to me that we hold different opinions on how the individual tours sound.
