I will always remember the guy in Canada with the "PJ Come to Belfast" flag. I think it was in one of the "official" photo's as well. Congrats guys!

Hey, if they can play Belfast, anythings possible.

So, a genuine question to those in the know - how does a band like PJ pick where to go? I'm still trying to fathom why the fuck they'd play here.

The worst venue they will probably ever play in their lives. Horrible security and sound.

Funnily enough, I've never been to a concert in the Odyssey.

*whispers*
its horrible, breathe the wrong way in front of security and you'll get dragged out...stand outside the white lines on the floor, and you'll get dragged out ( i shit ye not on the white lines thing!). The acoustics are awful, just sounds like a wall of mud most of the time. People where getting chucked out of Judas Priest for headbanging!!

I'm over the moon that they are finally playing here, but its kinda bittersweet as to where they are playing.

It was pretty smooth sailing to get tix to the Euro-gigs earlier this year, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Seeing the Doc in Ireland would be pretty nice.

In reply to whoever asked about how hard it'll be to fan club tix this year: last year was easy because it was only Euro fans allowed to buy fan club tix for the first few days. This year will be more like 2006: more difficult because everyone globally can buy tix as soon as they go onsale.

The Odyssey isn't that bad. I've seen a bunch of gigs there:

Velvet Revolver January 2005
Bruce Springsteen: November 2007
Judas Priest: February 2009
Counting Crows: May 2009

The venue is grand. 20 minutes walk from the city centre. The security have always been fine to me (and my mate was horrendously drunk at the Boss show and they left him to it). Judas Priest even was fine, and that was a metal crowd.

As for keeping within the white lines on the floor: the worst place for that ever was the O2 in London for PJ this year. The secuirity were a fucking nightmare there.

It ain't an ideal room, but it's far from the worst PJ will have ever played in.

yeah exactly was thinking that and 2006 was a bitch. Initially fan club tix should be offered to Irish fans.

Chris haven't PJ played Belfast b4.

Yeah well, I just bought a house so they could come over and jam in my attic.

It might just be an overexposure to the Chris, but "come over and jam in my attic" sounds incredibly randy...
