Q: Who are the headliners of the Austin City Limits Music Fest in October, according to a loose-lipped C3 insider, overheard at the “Rock the Rabbit” party? A: Pearl Jam. Beastie Boys. Dave Matthews Band. Kings of Leon. Ghostland Observatory.
For what it’s worth, C3 is the company that puts on Austin City Limits. Also for what it’s worth, Playboy’s Rock The Rabbit party took place Friday March 20th, and the fully reunited original line up of Jane’s Addiction played. Whether the supposedly loosed-lipped person is correct remains to be seen…

A little more info:
Quote:
Terry Lickona, producer of the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, TX recently participated in a chat at pbs.org, and added a little weight to the rumor of their appearance at the festival, which takes place October 2 -4, 2009. Excerpt: Lou, Arlington, VA: If you could have any artist on the show — dead or alive — who would it be and why? Terry Lickona: Dead OR alive?? LOL…nobody has ever quite put the question that way. In the non-living category, I’d have to say that HANK WILLIAMS (the original, not Jr.) would be right up there. Among the living, the obvious names missing from our 35-year history include Springsteen and Dylan…not for lack of trying…but I’ve never been able to break the ice. There are so many classic acts, too numerous to mention, but it was a thrill last year to have REM on our stage, and we’re looking forward to another breakthrough this year with Pearl Jam…but don’t tell anybody…

they were all set to do this last year. as per what mike said back in march of 2008. plus the superpages hold date up in dallas. and the hotel reservations at the four seasons that were cancelled the week of the 2008 acl announcement. but ed and wife were expecting a kid. which was born the week of acl 2008.

A friend of mine who works for the label Koch went down there last week for the first time. He got into a bunch of shows( Decemberists, Metallica & Jane's). He said it was pretty much common knowledge that Pearl Jam would be at the ACL festival. I know it's just a rumor, but he said everyone at the shows he spoke to mentioned it.
