It says in the booklet to TEN that this song is "For Heather" so my question is who is Heather and why is this song for her?

Heather is a girl Eddie knew who was institutionalized by her parents for smoking pot. The song is about her.

She scratches a letter into a wall made of stone
Maybe someday another child won't feel as alone as she does
It's been two years, and counting, since they put her in this place
She's been diagnosed by some stupid fuck, and mommy agrees, yeah...

She seems to be stronger, but what they want her to be is weak
She could play pretend, she could join the game, boy
She could be another clone.

Just a pain finding tabs that look and sound right, nothing compares to what I heard in Brisbane last year.

Except maybe the Why Go in Pinkpop 92 or on Ten.

For awhile there, this song, Animal, and Corduroy were my favorite PJ songs. Still like 'em all, but Mr. Irons and NC and Yield changed things.

i think they should play Deep more often now. listening to the Atlanta show and Ed sounds like a madman on this song!

I remember having to turn around to two extremely excited people behind me after they started playing it and saying "What the fuck is this?"

"Why Go!"

"Holy shit, they haven't played this in forever!"

And then they absolutely murdered it. Like Satan's Bed from State College bad, but worse. And its true, it is overplayed now.
