Anyone ever get the impression that Stone and Jeff agreed to do this thinking that the music they submitted would become a Cypress Hill pot song, and they were disappointed to find that it became a Cypress Hill gun song, and that's why it's a "bonus track" on the soundtrack album?

I'd guess that its a bonus track because it was included after the lineup was finalized. In hindsight, it seems like a last minute attempt from a major label act to include themselves on an album with a few indie bands they admired like Mudhoney and Sonic Youth for the credibility and publicity.
This came out in 1993, when Stone was running Loosegroove Records, a label that featured rap artists. I'd believe that he just wanted to try to collaborate with an act and squeeze a track onto a trendy soundtrack.
Who knows? Regardless, I can't imagine there are many fans of this one out there.

The reason I bumped this thread;
Yesterday I was talking with a friend about a possible anniversary show for PJ in the fall. I would imagine if they did something like this that perhaps there might be a few guests that would show up to perform with them on some songs. How funny would it be if Cypress Hill showed up and they actually did this song.

It might be funny, but give me Neil Young for Peace and Love.
