This very day ten years ago, I was packing my stuff to go to Rock Werchter and see my first Pearl Jam show. The day after, and that's a moment I will never ever forget, I was sitting somewhere in the grass at Rock Werchter, I think it was just before Bush (the band) came on. And the speaker told about what happened at Roskilde. You know the term "a deafening silence". That was exactly that. It was immense. Everyone was in total shock. All I was thinking was how lucky I was to be at Werchter and not at Roskilde. Don't get me wrong, I was pissed off I wouldn't get to see them, but on the other hand, I was "alive". I still feel very connected to the people who were there and who lost their lives, because I have the feeling I could have been one of them had I been born at a different place. I know it's ridiculous thinking, but that's how I work. And that's the main reason I went to the Copenhagen show in 2007.

just heard Eds speech from berlin about this on pearl jam radio. Cant believe it was 10 years ago! He mentioned that the band are grateful for getting to know the families of the people who lost their lives and that it helped them understand things about life they wouldnt have understood before. Very touching and you could hear Eds voice trembling.
