I like Supersonic, its a fast little rock song. Nothing mind blowing, nothing that is like "fuck I have to hear this band" but just a fast little rock song. The kind of song I'll listen to during the summer.
i like it too but i still ranked it below average (along with Speed of Sound and Force of Nature) solely based on the lyrics. having said that, i enjoy listening to Supersonic much more than the other 2 while i prefer reading FoN's lyrics or listening to SoS' demo.
To be honest I don't really pay that much attention to the lyrics in that song, I just like it for the music. Lyrics are almost always secondary to the music for me anyway.
i get that. english isn't my language so lyrics always come second when i listen to something new. i can enjoy a great song with shitty lyrics to some degree but i won't listen to some shitty music just because it has brilliant lyrics.

Same here. I'd prefer both to work together to create the effect the song is aiming for but if the lyrics fall short but the riffage is there I'm fine.

They could have done so much more with that song.
That's a sentence I speak far too often about this band.
Think how much better Worldwide Suicide would be if they'd done something more interesting with the snoozer of a bridge. Think how delicate a song Amongst The Waves could've been if they hadn't tried to force it into becoming an anthem. Think about...all of Riot Act.
It's like they're quitting before they get to the good stuff.
I really like the idea of amongst the waves not being an anthem--the verses are really interesting and quite good.
But I really like the WWS bridge--the way eddie chokes out that last lyric is great.
I do love that part, but the instrumental lead-up to it is a musical way of saying "If your snack bowl needs a refill, now's a good time."

Good: The End Force of Nature Johnny Guitar Unthought Known Just Breathe
Average: The Fixer Got Some Amongst the Waves Gonna See My Friend Speed of Sound
Below Average: Supersonic
I still like this album quite a bit. The more average songs would be much higher on my list if they had more lyrical substance because musically they're all really good.

Surprised that Unthought Known has seemingly dropped in people's minds. I remember that being everyone's favorite when the album was released.
Anyways, for me Got Some and The End are the two keepers. Johnny Guitar, The Fixer and Unthought Known are the next rung down. The Fixer is by far the most improved song over time for me.

amongst the waves and Speed of sound have very good lyrics, I think. Got Some is really the only dud

i would enjoy big wave a lot more if it was a b-side, and supersonic a lot more if it didn't sound like mankind
