the middle of the country is the best way to do it if you're expecting people to travel from all over the country. The Gorge might be prettier but it's a hell of a trek for people from that arent from the west.

But if you think about it, if you put it in the middle of the country pretty much everyone who goes will be traveling a long distance from either the east or the west.

Right, but if you put it on either coast the people on the other coast have to travel a real long way, maybe too long for them to do the trip. I really dont care, if this thing is in Seattle I'll still go, but I'd prefer it to be in the middle of the country, just like I'm sure people from the West Coast would rather have it there than in Boston or New York.

The Gorge isn't necessarily practical even for people who are willing to travel. You have to fly to Seattle and then have a 3 hour drive to get to a small town with no hotels. Not everyone wants to be a hippie and camp out for 3 days.

Plus if it's in the middle of the country I may actually drive instead of fly. If it's on the opposite coast, I'd have to fly.

I was just going to ask if the Gorge was accessible by public transportation, I remember hearing/reading that it wasnt.

There are people who live in the middle of the country...

I just moved away from Yakima, WA which is about an hour or so from the Gorge. Even from there it was a pain in the ass to go to festivals if you weren't camping out. I went to the Sasquatch Festival every year and just did the drive back and forth each day.

I'd also like this thing to be close enough that I could take a train so I could bring weed and not have to be raped/pose nude before I board.

This should be the ultimate deciding factor for the band on where to have it. Unless they are going to provide weed for us then they should take this into consideration.

I was actually just trying to start a regional war.

If they dont provide, the dealers in Chicago are going to clean up this summer.

Lol. And don't get me wrong, The Gorge is my absolute favorite outdoor venue ever. It just isn't convenient for a lot of the country to get to easily for this.

Also, if I'm going to a 3 day PJ festival and they don't play "Get Right", I'm writing a scathing letter to the band.

I would hope they could get Soundgarden for this thing. Soundgarden first night, Temple second night, PJ closes it down the 3rd night.

Matt would be really tired.

Hopefully if Matt could pull that off people could release there hold of Jack Irons nuts long enough to acknowledge how awesome he is.

Matt is my favorite of their drummers. The only thing Jack may have done better was play certain songs in the studio better than Matt would. Matt is a better songwriter and is much better live.

why would Matt be tired from playing two shows in three days? he played twice at Bonnaroo in two days.

edit: oh you mean Temple of the Dog, not STP. oops. but TotD kinda sucks outside of HungerStrike. that would be a lame show. Put MMJ in that slot. My interest level would drop considerably if this turned out to be some lame grunge nostalgia thing.

but any excuse to get Jack back would be a ok by me. Quality over quantity.

Matt is a beast and I love him. But Jack Irons simply sounds better/
