Teaming up to stay connected with their fans, Lady Gaga and Pearl Jam have partnered with a new social networking company called SkyGrid.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the company describes the service, called SkyGrid Groups, as a new social messaging platform that allows a music, film and TV marketers, as well as brands and organizations, to channel conversations that fans are having on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms to one single place and take advantage of the resulting viral marketing power.
The new tool will combine all fan-generated tweets, Facebook status updates, photos, videos and other Web content about an upcoming, concert, movie, etc. into a group and use it as a marketing tool to keep fans up-to-date before a release and share all the enthusiasm about it.
“With SkyGrid Groups artists, brands, and public figures are now connecting with their fans in more places than ever before," CEO Kevin Pomplun said.
