are you ever gonna finish your Yield tour?
I'd like to, but with the stopping-and-starting (entirely my own fault), it's hard to get good discussions going. I kinda feel like it's just self-indulgent if I'm writing for myself. I'll probably try again, but my posts need to be MUCH shorter. It's just been a kind of crazy year or two, both professionally and personally.
It's too bad; Yield deserved better.
I'm going to do one for vs. when the box set comes out. If you never get around to it I'll probably write one up for Yield after, just to complete the set, but I think you'll tell the better story with that one, so I'd much prefer you do it
Fair enough, I'd like to finish it; it's a matter of personal pride at this point.

Love the apostrophe, stip
I tried to fit 'now with apostrophes' into the thread title but couldn't

I'll do it either before or after Vs., whenever.
Post it after. I'd like to time the Vs. thread for the release

Off he goes gets more beautiful every single time I listen to it. If I would rank all the PJ songs again like I once did, this one would be way up there. Top-5. The music, the lyrics, the very deep personal connection I have with it and the VA Beach 00 version.

Meanwhile, Present Tense is one of the two songs why this band will probably always remain my number 1 even if they continue to release shitty albums. Oops.

The only reason to put Mankind behind Present Tense could have been "well, nothing could ever follow that song and stand out, so we better put a shitty song there." A song like Mankind and its placing is the reason this album will never probably never break my Yield / Vitalogy / Binaural top-3.

Present Tense with I'm Open as some sort of coda to the song to finish the album would probably be the best solution for me. Leave Around the Bend as a very good B-side and Mankind as a not so very good one. This album goes perfect up until song 10. What the fuck happened then?

Smile is a song that didn't really click with me for the first few years. But now I absolutely adore it. So simple, so honest, so beautiful.
Yep. I was meh, on it when I heard it back in 96. When I heard it on the Euro 2000 boots, I changed my mind. Those are some of my favorite versions of the song (Milan, Katowice, San Sebastian for example). The TB2K video is really good too.
