Push me pull me is such a great experiment....its seems they have learn it how to play it live , last year was actually fun to listen to it , but the studio version with all those noises , the HWIC intro, and specially the bass, is great.

How do you figure "Sunburn" is a Yield outtake? I thought it had more of a No Code feel.

Edited my post. You're right, it was recorded during the No Code sessions.

I'd really love to hear the Binaural songs that were recorded with Jack during the Yield sessions.

I don't know why I didn't include Parting Ways or Thin Air in my post. I took it from that list.

I've always had trouble enjoying Yield. Having listened to it a couple of times over the last fortnight, each time I'm left unfulfilled like having a roast with no gravy, or a drink that still leaves me thirsty. All the components are there and there are some great moments throughout. I don't know if breaking it down will help but here goes...

BOJ is a great opener and is one of the best here. I really like this song alot and when I first got Yield it wasn't a stayer with me. This was the song that got me playing the album more than just a couple of times.

Faithful is nicely recorded and layered but is lacking. I like the way it builds but I would never just play this song. It's better within the context of the album. In fact that's it, Yield is an album more than a collection of songs (as opposed to say VS or Backspacer).

And beautifully segued into No Way. This is working as an album of light and shade. This is one of my fav Yield tracks but it's not quite 5* (lyrics).

GTF is a killer and the first real peak and release after tracks 2+3.

Wishlist is just a plod and not the happy song you all hear. It's completely wrought with the Hail Hail line (I sometimes realise I can only be as good as you'll let me). I appreciate that PJ can do this nice song but I'm bored. And Pilate doesn't give me anything either. Pleasant enough bridge but the chorus is only just bearable.

DTE is the kick I need and this is what I want PJ to give me. Love the vocals and pretty much everything about this song.

Bloody Red Dot is just to appease Jack. This is a fun idea that we should never have heard.

MFC is a good song (3*) and I like Jack's drumming. Dave or Matt would have come in too hard. But it's been done better elsewhere.
LOw Light I used to like but it doesn't do enough and has me looking at the clock. Not enough moments yet and those are to far between.

In Hiding is promising and is a good song. But only that. Shall I put another record on?

PMPM is an interesting idea and I love that they did it. Nice enough but I'd never play this by itself.

ATY again is okay buit not enough for me.

It's kind of like sitting in a traffic jam wanting to get somewhere or just wanting to drive but it's really constricting. I don't feel like there's many soaring, freeing moments. It's a good 3 * album with a couple of really standout moments. I will try again with headphones and maybe driving on a freeway. I want to love this album but I just don't feel it enough. But the sound of the album is really warm and the guitars are great. The sequence is really strong upfront but it is a bit loose towards the end.

I've always thought Wishlist into Pilate was a bad choice of sequencing.

Wishlist is such a soft-focus dreary trudge, something faster needed to follow it.

I don't think Low Light is a particularly good song.

I like Red Dot just fine. Pearl Jam records could do with more of that kind of momentary diversion; think of them as palate cleansers, not main courses in themselves.

One of my top 3 Pearl Jam albums. Yield was the second Pearl Jam album I listened to and it played a huge role in my further exploration of the band's catalogue. I particularly love Brain of J, Faithfull, No Way, DTE, In Hiding and All Those Yesterdays. Great album.
