No, but I hear she plays a mean xylophone.

I actually wondered if that wasn't her doing the high up "ooh" in Just Breathe, before the bass comes in.

An album by the end of the year would be pretty cool and if it was any good I'm sure it would get quite a bit of publicity with all of their 20th anniversary events going on.

It would make for a nice, clean album-every-two-years average.

I really hope they arent making this album like they made Backspacer. Matt, Jeff, Stone, and Mike work on demos and then Eddie comes in and adds some lazy lyrics in a week.

Stone has already stated that's exactly what they're doing.

I think it's fairly important they get a record out this year. Capitalise on the 20th anniversary and get into people's minds that they're at this level now and they're truly important and here to stay. It's Pj though so none of this will happen.

Hey, that sounds kind of like how they made Ten.

Backspacers lyrics stand all over S/T though let's be fair.

I'll take Avocado over Backspacer. The more time goes by the less I like Backspacer, it's been a steady decline since it came out.

That's what we were all saying about Avocado. But now that it's not the newest album anymore, we're starting to like it again.

Ow no, we don't. I'm just not that vocal about my dislike anymore. :)

Yeah, I never said my opinion of Avocado has changed. I just like it a lot more than Backspacer.

I'm just generalizing. I'm sure there's still plenty of Avocado haters out there. It's just Backspacers' time to get the hate. Once the next album's been out for a while, people will start to say "you know, Backspacers actually been growing on me lately. I don't hate it as much as I used to."

Absolutely. It happened with Binaural, then Riot Act, now it's happening with Avocado. Next it'll be Backspacer getting the belated compliments.

:nice:
We see that every time.
What's with our obsession to rank these things anyway?
I still love Backspacer, and I am still surprized a bit after every listen.
Avocado I didn't love instantly, but I still think very few songs can top Comatose, Come Back or Parachutes.

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAHHHHHH

GOT SOME IF YOU NEED IT GOT SOME IF YOU NEED IT

*GRUNT*

...

I'm already feeling more charitable about Backspacer than I was about six months after its release - I think there's four really great songs on there now - but I really can't see that improving when the next record comes out. I think it's been long enough for those feelings to settle now. I don't hate it, I just think it's probably the band's weakest effort overall. Some good songs (GSMF, Johnny Guitar, Just Breathe, AtW) but the rest either belong on an Ed solo record or feel too thin and lacking in substance.
