When's the last time you played an official PJ album in your CD player? Do people even use CD players outside of the car anymore??

True story: I don't even have a cd player hooked up to my stereo. What I need to do is just get a computer inputted into it.

I've recently listened to Vitalogy on vinyl, but I haven't listened to a PJ CD in years. It's all on my computer, which I can sync to my iPod, so why bother?

Same here my friend. You really need to integrate the PC and the stereo though.

The last few PJ albums are the only CDs I've purchased in recent history and the 10C versions of S/T and Backspacer still remain shrinkwrapped on the shelf.

i purchase cd's still.

I like to have a collection on my shelving units. Also, I have not gotten into records yet thus the cd collection. It will be vintage one day as well.

Also, i will be getting vinyl once i get some finances in line.

I'm a cd guy. I love the atrwork, lyrics and seeing the thought process and ideas that have gone into it. Hell, I even like knowing the songwriting credits, who produced and where it was recorded. Nothing beats popping a great cd into the home stereo, turning it up loud, pulling out the cd artwork, pouring a glass or three of red and immersing yourself for an hour or so.

Still chuck cd's in my car for drives even though I have a line in to use my ipod with. Sometimes the ipod is too many choices and you tend not to savour an album the way you should on a long drive. Wouldn't dream of bike riding without my ipod though.

Other bands such as Phish routinely offer incentives for pre-orders of new albums such as bonus discs or other exclusive content. With Pearl Jam all you get are unreasonable shipping costs.

I find it rather insulting that 10C Management takes the core fan base so much for granted that they feel they can sell albums without even providing a product description, i.e., a tracklist. I will not be pre-ordering the PJ20 stuff and will look to buy it as cheaply as possible through indie sources or used.

i'm with you there, but the first part is why i buy the vinyl even thought I don't have a record player. The artwork and lyrics are WAY better with vinyl.

I'm betting that in the last band meeting they discussed just how far they can push their core fans. I bet the fanclub version comes without a tracklisting. Saving them money, time and they can say that real fans should know the what the songs are anyways.

Should you add in the header post that this contains 29 songs?

It might just be my old age, but I'm not very excited about rare / unreleased stuff from Pearl Jam. I'm still scarred by 'Just A Girl' and other rubbish. Surely we've heard everything good they've got to offer...

Oh, yeah, I know that - sorry for the negativity; I just think most of their best non-album stuff has been fairly recent, Binaural and onwards. And I'm not sure how much of that we haven't heard.
