i would say no.
temple of the dog is such a unique and special record, i don´t need them to tour or do more records.
i would like to see some kind of colaboration between chris and stone though.

Expectations for that would be higher than for any new Pearl Jam album. And it would fail on an epic scale because of it.

That might be awesome, but it's never gonna happen. Chris and Eddie have always been careful to make sure no one even SUSPECTS them of milking Andy Wood's legacy, and ToTD was a one-time thing for a specific purpose.

If you are looking for more Ed/Chris collaborations check out some early 90's PJ stuff, they toured with Chris Cornell a bit, and performed together. I was listening to an Even Flow from '91 the other day and all of a sudden I hear Chris start singing Outshined :luv:

Well, from what I understand, Andy's family and girlfriend already felt that way about the first Temple of the Dog album.

 gracias. from the pj20 film it seemed like a great idea from cornell since the 2 were so close, but i guess i could see how she could think this after "grunge explosion" happened.

If they wrote all new songs under a different band name that might be OK, but to reform TotD as some sort of continuing tribute to Andy Wood would seem like a hollow cash grab.

Just looked up the quote: Xana said she likes the album a lot, but feels uncomfortable that Chris and the Pearl Jam guys made a profit on it. She also said Andy's brothers were upset they weren't asked to contribute.

would it? who cares about andy wood anymore outside of a small circle of people? His name or the idea of a tribute would not be what moves that product.

Although inspired by the memory of Andy, I think Reach Down and Say Hello 2 Heaven are the only two songs specifically written about him. You have the entire TOTD lineup entact with Pearl Jam with exception of the main singer. I think it is safe to say that a second Temple album will absolutely never happen unless, perhaps, Eddie was to die some sudden tragic death. Then Temple could reform in the same spirit as the first time around.

Chris and Eddie can share lead singing credits in the songs, I don`t see why anybody have to die for this to happen.

It would not happen because Temple was a one-off project twenty-one (21) years ago which lasted for a matter of weeks. The music, both composition and vocal, was almost all entirely Chris Cornell. Chris Cornell now has an active solo career and current projects with Soundgarden. Temple was more of a side project for Cornell and the musicians he recruited for that project are now extensively involved in other endeavors.

As other people in the discussion have said, a Temple reunion would reek of commericialism if it were not motivated by some kind of unifying event of the kind that motivated the original project. There would really be no point otherwise. Chris Cornell has Matt Cameron at his disposal if he wants to use his talents and the rest of the Temple members have lots of other projects on their plate.

I would burn every piece of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden memorabilia I own in a fire if they ever tried to put out a new Temple album or tour or something...even if 100% of the dollars went to fundraising something, Pearl Jam and/or Soundgarden could accomplish that goal more effectively. Temple is something only a select group of superfans cares about these days beyond the two singles.

Even a deluxe edition remaster treatment of the original album would be tacky. It is what it is, let it be.

But I'm in agreement...this doesn't mean Cameron Jam and Chris Cornell couldn't make music together again...it might even end up sounding very Temple-esque. But that name and the album I think are very sacred, and not just for Andy...the way it came together, and you have Eddie Vedder as the new guy nobody's ever heard of singing on this, then it gets very popular in the future...that can't be repeated.
