You can bring it. Just know that you run the risk of being booted. And for goodness sake, if you're going to be taking shots, do take the flash off, and turn off the LCD screen so as not to distract people behind you through a whole show.

from the one Ed show I saw last year, there is absolutely positively NO WAY IN HELL you will knowingly be allowed in with a camera, and security was ridiculously aggressive and annoying patroling the entire show to the very end for camera people.

no chance.
camera policy at EV shows is super-strict. only chance is taking a shot with your phone during Hard Sun.
There is a SMALL chance. If you're extremely sneaky. I know someone who's managed to set up a tripod to do some videoing. Thems veterans at doing this, though, sitting next to people who know how to provide cover to shield from the security.

The atmosphere is SO much nicer at his shows when people follow the rules, keep their fucking cell phones off, don't snap pictures, and shut the fuck up while he is singing. Santa Cruz was amazing a few years back. I have read that the East Coast crowds were (predictably) far less courteous.

From what I've seen the discourteousness is pretty much universal at his shows.

From an East Coaster who has been to a show on both Coasts ( Santa Cruz and Philly 2 09). I would say both crowds weren't bad. We had some chick who's cellphone kept ringing in Santa Cruz and some drunk assholes in philly. But for the most part both crowds were really good.
