I'm just curious to hear about RM's demographics regarding 10 Club memberships.
Personally, I've never been a member and since i've only seen the band once, i don't feel like i've been missing much. I think it would feel somewhat special to be a very early (before PJ Jeremy became an MTV staple) supporter and to own some of these Holiday 45s...
my first rm thread was a question about the 10c i think. i've got pj tix through the 10c three times and ed tix once. now that they're playing canada this year i'm glad i decided to renew for one last time, even if i didn't go anal.
i could care less about the letter and those oversized black plastic coasters they send once every three years.

So i'd like to hear your 10C stories
POLL PLEASE!
i'll bite. i've been in it since 92. my number is 5 digits and begins with a 4. i used to obsess about everything pearl jam, but now it's just about the albums and the shows. i could care less about holiday singles, deluxe box sets, or $80 sweatshirts. despite what people say around here, i think it's an awesome club. yes, i've been shut out of shows, but i've also been in the front. renewing my membership will be something i always do. just not anal log.

All i really care about is the tickets. I've got the 45's but i only listen to the digital copies i've downloaded over the years. Could care less about the other stuff.
Think i only got shut out once and that was to the Vic show.
At this point i wouldn't bother joining 10C for tickets...your number would be so shitty i can't imagine that the tickets you may or may not get would be much better than what you could pull from ticketmaster. My number gets me very good side stage but i've never even been on the floor.

was for a couple years, let it lapse. never had trouble getting tix before or after, and with seniority i would be screwed anyway. i just download the mp3. Do i really need to hear Ramblings in all its vinyl glory?
i've been at the front row once and thats really enough for me (and sitting in the heat for eleven hours made it feel all the more special). I touched Eddie! i dont really feel the need to be up close now. the back is just as good.

I had 138xxx and let it lapse in 2000. Now its 244xxx or something around there. Years ago it felt like a big deal, getting prime seats, the newsletter, the 45s. Now its just more expensive and I kind of feel like my loyalty and love of the band is taken for granted a little bit.

btw guys, i know i'm not the one to give english lessons but shouldn't it be "couldN'T care less"? it's been 3 times in a row now
i'm standing by "could" for me because, truth be told, i could care less. saying couldn't would imply that i don't care at all. i've kept all my vinyls, considered (briefly) deluxe sets, and own more than one item of pj clothing. so i guess i care a little at least. but yeah, you're right, it really should be couldn't. i should also capitalize and not be drinking.

277,xxx. living in texas i dont get to use my number all that much. although i used it a ton during the 2003 tour, i pretty much had the highest number at the time. came in handy last year in cleveland. and ill probably use it again next week.

Joined in '97, let it lapse in '03. (Somehow got second row center at Atlanta 1998 despite being a relative noob.)
430xxx now. Rejoined in April of '09 to get Ed tix (which worked out pretty well, since seniority didn't matter). I'm thinking about going to Toronto, but I'm trying to debate if I want to bother with the 10C sale. (I'll probably just fight with Ticketmaster instead.)

I had a 340 number I got in 2005 but then stupidly let it lapse and then got a 405 in 2008. I've kept it up to date since. I know i'm never going to get great seats (got 15th row on the floor in Halifax and was pleased as punch)but theres always the chance of the Lottery and with people dropping all the time ya never know what might happen.

I keep the membership up for the ticket pre-sales, and the seats it gets me. Between being able to buy before general public, ticket quality, being able to avoid ticketmaster/ebay/scalpers - I think the membership pays for itself. I genearlly get very good side-stage tickets or back rows on the floor.
Not really in it for the single, newsletter, t-shirt or anything like that, but some of the stuff can be very cool, and I consider it a bonus. I do like being able to pre-order vinyl and bootlegs, so I guess I use it for that too.
