Ole is really that bothersome of a word?
Absolutely. It sounds so cheesy.

I don't mind this song too much, but agree to the S. America pandering aspect.
However, what I am absolutely loving about this song is that I don't hear Brendan O'Brien wankery on it. No softness added, nothing on it that doesn't sound like a member of the band is doing it. I don't hear the intrusion that destroyed Backspacer so much for me. That has me excited.

this thread helped me figure out what to say for TSIS, so good job team. My first reaction upon hearing the song was 'I don't know what to do with this'

I expect credit.

Fuck it, I'm going on record saying that I dig it. I keep listening to it and I'm bobbing my head and shit, so despite the Ole taking some getting used to... thumbs up.

exactly. they can probably do these rockers in their sleep but as long as they arent overdone with the goofy production, i'm ok with it.

i think I'd like this song without the ole stuff. I really like the last minute.

I bet spenno likes this.
I'm at work right now and so probably won't get a chance to hear it for a few hours but I'm pretty curious, especially given that it seems quite polarising.
I do like the quirkier aspects of the band a lot, so we'll see.

Stip, think about in this light maybe... Remember hearing "Never thought you'd habit!" back in the day. It was weird in sort of the same way Ole is right now as we're listening to the song. However, listen to the hook and groove in Ole and again compare it to a song like Habit. It's got that hook and groove thing going for it along with that unpredictable bit. Did I expect Ole to come from PJ? Nope, not a lyric I thought I'd ever hear Eddie utter outside of S. America. But nonetheless that particular lyric isn't a showstopper any more than "Never thought you'd habit" was in my mind. I think as we hear the song more, it'll absorb and we'll just get lost in the music. Just listen to the music and see if it isn't pulling you to bob your head and enjoy like it is doing to me.
I'm the first to admit that the Ole lyric was a bit hard to stomach on initial listen.
