I wanted to listen to Riot Act today, not knowing my "shuffle mode" was turned on. I went with it, and it was really good. I think Riot Act is an odd (but good) collection of songs. This really worked, with some of my favorites popping up at odd moments (Ghost, Get Right, Help Help).
Does anyone do this with other PJ albums? If so, does it work?

I did it with Ten when I was about 13. It was really exciting. I was all like, "Will it be Deep? Will it be Jeremy? Will it be Oceans? Will it be Once?"

It was so awesome.
I figured some smart ass comments would come, but not from Kevin Davis. I just thought it might be a good discussion since all the album talk usually revolves around "retracking" to make it sound better. Thought maybe we could find one or more that "flow" in any order.

My tone probably didn't help my case, but I was being dead serious. I was 13 and on a trip with my family to Wisconsin Dells; I remember it so vividly because I'd just discovered my CD player's shuffle button and got such a kick out of it.
I'm generally a big fan of the "shuffle" feature on most playback devices. I'm not a big iPod guy, but I do enjoy dumping a bunch of songs by the same artist into the iPod and just letting it pick the order.

Greatband to do this with is Aracde Fire. All their songs on shuffle is incredible, they just all work so well in any variation. It's so bizarre that they do but they hang together beautifully.
Backspacer is great on shuffle. The actual tracklist is about the worst sequence possible.
