With some recent interviews suggesting the band (Ed more specifically) feeling a duty to cater setlists/the show to satisfy a large group of people....
How would you feel if they decided to do numerous dates across the globe in small clubs only.... knowing full well you would most likely not be able to see the show in your hometown etc...
I say bring it, yea? Small club tour to satisfy the musical creations within themselves rather than feeling a need to be the "party band" or satisfy large stadiums of people (which i certainly understand). Completely selfish tour to tickle any remaining artistic endeavors they need to. A more Neil Young approach.
well it could be amazing, but it´s just difficult for them to make it happen. i would like some rare shows like moore theatre or the showbox or the vic theatre more often.

Hey, somebody's gotta get in the door, don't they?

that would be. You could also play a more experimental live show too (REM did a bunch of those while recording Accelerate). The philosophic differences between Johnny Ramone and Neil Young's approach to setlists don't necessarily seem to be tied to size

An acoustic theatre tour would be cool, even though the whole tickets thing would be WW3.
I like the idea of major venue and theatre in each city of the tour. Go with the normal ticketing system for the major venue and do a 10C lottery for the theatre.

I can see myself enjoying a scenario in which they launch a full-scale US tour, playing larger venues in the major cities of the northeast and the west coast while booking dates in exponentially smaller venues throughout the south and parts of the midwest.
It'd be great to see them in a small venue-- though it would pain me to have a show nearby and not be able to make it due to venue size/seniority/lottery/lack of funds to pay a scalper.
I'd say they should book larger, accessible venues and play experimental setlists. They can market it as such to set our expectations. While the atmosphere may not be as good, they'd get to try something different and still get paid (provided there is enough demand)

Pj in a small theatre isn't the big deal you'd imagine it to be. It was always a dream of mine to see them in a small place, finally got to see them do it when they played Shepherds Bush Empire in London 09, and it was good, but PJ are an arena band. They just work better in that sort of environment. Check the boot out if you doubt me.

Um, ever hear of Orpheum 94? That band new how to do it in a theatre. They could put forth the effort and do it right again if they wanted to.

Didn't they have a crazy schedule leading up to Shepherds Bush - played a show in Canada, flew straight to the UK right after and were playing that show with hardly any downtime? I recall discussion that they were dog-tired at that show.
I think they could do it, providing they wanted to. They've played plenty of great smaller shows in the past - people thought the Vic in 2007 and the Beacon in 2008 were incredible.

Well jet lag was mentioned that night. Couple that with it being a london crowd, I guess it explains why the energy wasn't there. Happy I got to be there, it just could have been a whole lot better.
