FoN has some of the better PJ/EV lyrics of the past couple of albums. But it just feels too linear for me. I think it's Ed's vocals... just stays on the same plane the entire time. But agreed, underrated.

I hear what youre saying but I don't think it'd work if he started quiet and built big towards the end but who knows. It'd sure be interesting to hear it sung like that.

Sometimes i feel like Backspacer is Pearl Jam's Era Vulgaris. I mean, both get mixed feelings toward the fans, they either love, or hate it. Both got more accessible songs (even poppy, if you're feeling dramatic)than most of their past albuns, and I think both succeds pretty well for what they were trying to be.
GSMF: 3,5/5 Never got me, I think it misses something, maybe a McCready or a Stone solo after the bridge. But the low tone chorus is pretty awesome. Got Some: 4,25/5 Realy energic song, Matt and Jeff kicks all sort of asses in here, and I don't care for the lyrics. Still, it also needed a better solo. The Fixer: 4/5 Fun song, hate the fade out. Johnny Guitar: 2/5 Boring... Really never got into, but that bridge is pretty good. Just Breathe: 4,25/5 Such a pretty song, always love to listen to it in headphones, it got a beatiful atmosfere. I needed a better ending IMHO Amongs The Waves: 3/5 Never got why this was chosen for a single instead of FON. The solo is pretty bad IMO, but its an OK song... UK: 4,5/5 Im kinda sick of UK... But still is a pretty good song, maybe a highlight of the album. WAY better in studio though. Supersonic: 2/5 It could be a prett good song, but it just falls flat. PJ should learn how to do good punk song with Soundgarden (I see a little bit of "No Atention" and "Never Named" in this song...) SOS: 3,75/5 I really like this version, almost as I like the demo. The should play it more live, but without Ed's acoustic guitar. It's not needed. FON: 4,75/5 Easyly my favorite of the album. Never got why it wasn't even a B-Side. This song deseve more than what it gets. One of the best songs in the latter 10 years of the band. The End: 4/5 A realy good closer, same analiss of Just breathe.
