I'm going out to give this my 'listen to the entire record with headphones' listen

Edzeppe--Maybe--we'll have to see in 6 months when the 'new pj glow' has worn off.

I'm prepared to listen to the leak, if anyone has it.

Pretty unremarkable. These songs are too bloody short. They're over by the time you've listened to them.

Not sure what happened to Got Some - it sounds flat and robotic. It's a shame because the Conan version was amazing.

Wow... The way Unthought Known builds and builds until that huge "Nothing left" crescendo... Impressive.

Ya know as soon as RM started running slow as crap I figured it must have leaked.

I dunno this album covers it all with quality. Light years ahead of S/T at the very least.

Ugh, it just had to leak when I'm on my way out of town, didn't it. Downloading right now, won't get to listen until Sunday evening :(

Unthought known

This reminds me a little of Stairway to Heaven just with the gradual build (condensed into a much shorter song). A great 1-2 with Amongst the Waves. It just builds wonderfully with so much positive energy. This is such a feel good song, I fucking love it. Just so powerful. I said I wasn’t gonna give any 5 stars yet, so I’ll give this one 4.5. This was the kind of song that’s been missing since Yield, and we got two of them here.

First Impressions
GSMF: 4/5
Got Some 3.5
The Fixer: 4/5
Johnny Guitar: 5/5
Just Breathe: 4/5
Amongst the Waves: 4/5
Unthought Known: 4.5/5

I haven't heard the album yet, but I told everyone here that after listening to ed's live version of unthought known that this would be the best tune onthe record; I am excited!

Not in on this, not sure I will. But I'm curious about the reviews. I've always associated songs like Get Right, Big Wave, and Green Disease and "fun" PJ songs, and also one some dislike (for some reason I don't know cause I love em). So I'm very interested in how the fanbase will respond to an album of fun songs ........

Got Some is missing that loud guitar from Conan and Eddie sounds a little flat. its a bit dissappointing.

but i'm thinking Backspacer is the best since Yield. for real this time!

Sorry, but on 1st listen, I thought "Unthought Known" was average at best. Maybe cause it had to follow "Amongst the Waves".

I don't like this new "Speed of Sound" as much as the demo.

It's 2009. If you sound flat you get auto tuned before the vocal gets in the mix.
