Riot Act is popular with a lot of the "new" PJ fans of the younger generation, who were around when this one came out. However for the older fans like myself, who lived through all of their albums before....Riot Act is definitely their least impressive. Riot Act cannot touch Vitalogy,No Code, or Ten at any level. I even think Binaural is better than Riot. Hopefully their next album will go back to their strengths as a band.

why do people say things like this?

or maybe i just really love the album?

ive been around since Ten. been through every album, interview, live show, bootlegs etc etc...

Riot act is a phenonemal album for me. No Code is the most inconsistant album theyve made in my opinion. great songs, but the album has no flow. but i guess im just not a "real" fan because i think this. no code is still better than any other bands albums...but for PJ...it was their state of mind at the time, for me, riot act flows perfectly from start to finish.

ive been a hardcore fan since the first time i heard even flow on MTV when Ten was out. and i think pearl jam's later work is much better. and more exciting. better written. more meaningful.

and matt cameron IS a fucking God. and his guitar skills are beyond amazing, his drumming....there are no words....

I think Ed should quit smoking..... I do'nt like the ''mud'' on his vocal cord.... F.ex. ''...come on HIT me instead....'' The ''hit'' on Save you is really awful... Please Ed! Cut down on the cigarettes.

I think some of the songs are just sung in another character, its part of the song, like a tired person in all or none, a dissonant one in Ghost, its not that ed was just too lazy to get off the couch and make the vocal track that day.

Like a lot of people I just though it was too fragmented. I think the band needs to hole up together somewhere for a couple weeks and keep it real.

My brother recently became a pearl jam fan, and this was the album that came out at the time. He says it's his favorite. I'm sure we all have sentimental attatchments to whatever got us into the band. Having said that, of course that is not the only reason to like the album

Riot Act has some of their best songs, Can't Keep, Save You, LBC, I Am Mine, Green Disease, All or None,.. but it also has some of their worst songs, Cropduster, Ghost and Help, Help. It's a hard album to decide apon. It's my favorite, but definately has some moments that drag it down a little.

Well this is one of those threads, but I have to give Riot Act some props. For me, Vitalogy and Binaural are the worst. Vs., Code, and Riot Act are at the top, Ten and Yield are in the middle. But Riot Act is so much better then Binaural and Vitalogy, it just isn't funny. Bin and Vit each have 3 really good songs, a few good ones, and the stink of the PJ catalogue remaining. I don't think Riot Act has a truly bad song. It definetly doesn't have many of their best songs, but every song is good. It doesn't have a single God's Dice, Evacuation, Satan's Bed, or FoxyBugsaDevinta on it.

Ghost - this song rocks. Love the second verse very Ed.

1/2 Full- Best song on the album and the best live song.

You Are- Brilliant. Beautiful lyrics amazing song blew me away the first time I heard it. "Your love is a tower of strength to me"

A Song that didnt make Riot Act 4/20/02 the most painful song ever written.

The guys are writing brilliant songs. Cant wait for the next album.

I know most other people don't like it, but Cropduster has always been one of my favorites. Along with You Are. :D
