of all the Kinks songs, why did they have to cover this crap, though?

Yeah, it was an odd choice, especially considering what the Kinks did from 1966 to 1972.

If you look at the lyrics, it makes sense they chose this song.

How so?

The lyrics are below, and I'm not seeing why it makes sense they chose this song. I love Ray Davies and I think he's quite possibly the best rock lyricist of all time. Having said that, I'm luke warm on the song. It's OK, but it's far from the Kinks best output.

I agree it is not part of the best stuff The Kinks have made over the years, and it would not surprise me if they chose a rather less known song on purpose. But the lyrics have a positive ring to them that you find in a lot of other PJ songs, albeit not always as obvious as in this song. I'm curious if we will ever get to know the story or reason as to why they chose to cover this particular song.

What browser are you using? I don't have that option in chrome.

In the back of the issue there are a bunch of ticket scans from the end of the 1998 tour. Does anyone else think that they're hinting at releasing some '98 shows from the vault?

 Yeah, well, I've figured out how to get the URL of the picture now, but it's a little more complex in Chrome.
