Oh, well, you're screwed. People on-line are too smart to pay for that stuff.

Is it that dumb? Dumb to me is paying for a compressed file that Apple has stored on their servers somewhere instead of paying for something that is actually tangible.

You know there are file formats that aren't lossy compressed that give you the same exact audio quality as the physical CD? Also, with those bootleg CDs you have no idea what the original audio was like.

How can a show only exist on a silver boot. You mean to tell me no one has extracted the silver boot to some digital file format?

Of course they also exist digitally. That's not the point - the point is that the only known source of some boots is still a silver disc. I have FLAC rips of dozens of silver boots but I also like actually owning a few of the really good ones. I can think of a number of Nirvana silvers better than some of their official releases (Out of the Blue in particular).

In the case of one Soundgarden show, there wasn't a pristine, uncorrupted version of the Putting Down Roots silver boot available until last week.

Most of the silver boots out there now are redundant, inferior and useless. But there are still some worth owning if you like owning physical copies of music.
