I don't remember who said I was wrong, and the post is gone, but I'm posting this as an official "i told you so."

Quote:
Well, that didn't last long. Google suspended the app today following a DMCA violation report from Pearl Jam LLC and Ten Club LLC. I spoke with the Ten Club lawyer today, and was told basically that every aspect of the app, including the album cover images, lyrics, etc, was a violation. They also mentioned that other apps that provide that content are doing so illegally, and that fact that they haven't also received take-down notices is pure luck at this point.

I plan to continue my talks with them to see if there's a way to make it possible still (ie only for ten club members, or something of the like), but at this point it's down indefinitely.

Yes. http://www.theskyiscrape.com/2012/07/pe ... droid.html

And for the record, it's still working on my phone. Perhaps if you downloaded it, it'll continue to work.

Why doesn't the official Pearl Jam app play Pearl Jam radio?

And why don't they make Pearl Jam Radio work on an iPad?

I was going to make a snarky remark, but I don't have one. What possible excuse could there be? When that app came out, they hinted that Pearl Jam Radio was coming, but here we sit. Obviously, it's fairly easy. Kids have figured it out and made their own apps. Hell, management coulda worked with this guy to get his code and put it in. He probably would have given it as a gift if they recognized his contribution.

Maybe you should go find that thread at the Pit where you're allowed to make suggestions about the Ten Club and let them know that we want this.

At any rate, I snagged it, and it continues to work. Woo hoo!
