I was once called a thread killer on another board I used to frequent. I have a habit of leaving close ended know it all comments, I'll warn everyone of that right now!

It will be hard for me to accept that they are done and they have nothing left. However, all signs point to "that is the case strat, man up and admit it"

Definitely will get another album
Highly doubt an extensive tour at all
Then yea - quiet. Then who knows. I suppose I rather have them walk away quietly and never announce "we're done" only to get back together and do the whole reunion thing.
This being said I enjoy Backspacer. its just a feeling that comes from the way they are approaching "pearl jam" for 6 years now. Doesn't feel right. Definitely a major back seat and feels like an obligation.
I really don't care what stone, jeff, mike, matt or boom do on there own. I like ed's projects and pearl jam. To me the side projects are like paying for a handjob at a massage parlor instead of just getting a hooker. Cheap and unfulfilled.
you had me till the analogy. handjobs at massage parlors are not only fulfilling, but they offer many benefits over a hooker.
1) no risk of disease 2) you get a massage 3) you don't feel as guilty 4) it's much cheaper 5) it's more humane 6) no risk of disease
Anyway, this is all in theory of course, never had any experience with this kind of stuff.

Yeah, I try and tell myself otherwise but I'm seeing the telltale signs of denial. I do agree on them quietly walking away though. We've gotten 3 albums in a decade and the time between each one has grown. People change, musical tastes change. Then again it's all speculation guys.
If you need me I'll be in the other room listening to the Benaroya live album.
