No one really mentioned that Ed was injured for a big chunk of this year, and that most likely put Pearl Jam on hold. Stuff's sitting on the shelf and Pearl Jam has an unexpected hiatus, it's a good time to do some of the stuff you've been meaning to do.

:haha: Didn't he just kinda hurt his shoulder or something?

He couldn`t play guitar at all. He didn´t even tour.

For like a couple of months, right?

How does that impede his participation in a recording session where he is mainly a vocalist?

Maybe he had therapy sessions that got in the way. Maybe he was supposed to stay off his feet or out of cars. Maybe he was taking drugs that made him tired. Maybe he had surgery. Maybe looking at Stone aggravated his spinal column.

I've got a woman who's taking a month off of work for surgery on her foot. That doesn't keep her from sitting here and answering the phone, but people still take time off their jobs to recover from injuries.

I think Ed's injury might've been a blessing in disguise if it keeps the Unthought Knowns and Just Breathes off the new record.

We need more Big Waves. I agree completely.

At least if they are on hiatus and don't do much after another album, it may bode well for releasing more vault shows. They will need some way to keep generating money, because a grunge jacket from settle made in China won't cut it.
