When i read the title, i was thinking of some sort of rock of ages looking hot mess, so at least its not that.

And hamlet is always pretty cool, so maybe it'll be interesting, but ....

Basically

well it says that it would be performed live, so i figured those two were out.

regardless, the band has already been a part of movie soundtracks and this appears no different based on that brief write-up about it. if it turned into an Across The Universe like movie production i would still only be interested in the musical performances rather than the actual visual presentation/storyline of it.

There's not going to be a single black person in this.

Hopefully this lives up to the standard set by the Billy Joel musical.

Hamlet is my favorite play of all time. Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time. How could this possibly miss?!

I am SO considering going to this Friday night.

I'm really hoping that "Ootsotsi baseBenoni" makes the cut for this thing.

About the show

This rock and roll adaptation of Hamlet resets the existential revenge story in the Lower East Side in the 90s, condensing it into an adrenaline-fueled 80 minutes and framing the story with the songs of Pearl Jam, performed live.

Hamlet returns from college to find his uncle Claude married to his mother and plotting to turn the Elsinore, a historic Lower East Side building, into high priced modern condos in what will soon be known as the East Village. During a wild drug trip with his friend Horacio, he sees the ghost of his father, and vows revenge for his murder at the hands of Claude.

I assume the play ends with Hamlet embracing corporate culture to toe-tapping sounds of "Just Breathe."

This is actually the one moment where our collective cleverness fails us. Nothing we can come up with is as funny as what will actually occur. It's like trying to predict how many times Avengers 2 will look like a gay pride parade.
