Horror movies would be great in October when more people will be feeling it.

At the risk of sounding snobbish, I'm just not sure that enough people on the whole would be familiar with enough names to make it a worthwhile tourney. I'd have a ball with something like, but I can't say for the general population.

I know what you mean. Most famous screenwriters are directors too, so it won't be exclusively on writers.
I can only of two non-directing writers of hand- Paul Schrader and Charlie Kaufman, and that writer who always work with the Trainspotting director and Ewen McGregor. Can't think of his name but I read an article about that trio.

If there's a tournament, we'll have to make some sort of rule that writer-directors are welcomed.

BTW, I'm not sure why I used the word "Favorite"??? It could be RM Screenwriters or RM Foreign Language Film...etc..
