Yes. I thought the conversations had too many long awkward pauses and the relationships between the characters felt forced. Don't ask me to explain further, because I don't know that I could. Just the feeling I got from it.

I agree.

Yeah the previews on TV make this out to be a car chase movie, which it is not. At all.

REALLY dug this. It's an 80's crime noir flick through and through.

It takes its time, though, and I think that's what is turning audiences off, but that's the fault of the advertising being misleading. It's not an action movie at all, it's a deliberate slow-burn. There are sequences with zero dialogue, and the movie relies on fantastic visuals, sound design and music to tell the story. The direction is great, it's got a great tone and atmosphere throughout, and it's not afraid to let the gore fly. There's also a lot of interesting subtext food for thought if you're into that.

This was a fuckin cool movie. I'm happy to admit a full on mancrush on Ryan Gosling, and the soundtrack was excellent. Sounded like Scarface but it worked really well.

I :heartbeat: Ryan :) :luv: :luv:

Is it still a mancrush if you're gay?

Lenny, I was sparing some consideration for my fellow RMer's sensitivities by putting an acceptable phrase upfront rather than the lurid graphic sexathon I was mentally depicting..but fuck that, he's a man men wanna be. We can all admit mancrush is allowed on Gosling.

I have only myself to blame.

Great soundtrack...great movie.

Spoiler: show
Would've loved to see where the story would have went if they did end up going into racing.

its good but we are probably giving it more credit than it deserves because of the low expectations caused by the trailer.

Watching this now. Haven't seen reviews of a movie this mixed in a long time.
