I don't care for the new guy. 1st episode was okay. Actually, it's a little too grotesque. I hope future episodes are more character/story driven and less moving from one shocking scene to the next. Also, as much as i miss the original guy, i miss batiatus even more.

last week might have been the worst of the series - fighting in the woods, gross party, fighting in the woods, gross party, etc.
this week definitely made up for it, as it is one of the best of the series. i was so happy to see the creepy buttfucker finally die too. just awesome.

I'm just still not liking the Spartacus guy this season.
I think the last two episodes he has come into his own. I couldn't get over Andy's death for like the first 3 episodes. But the last episode was his best.

before this week's show began, the warnings list seemed a little long. my wife and i noticed it at the same time - rape? i posited that it would be male on male and fairy inconsequential to the plot. i could not have been more shocked by who attacker and the victim were. i doubt i will ever go back and rewatch the series, but if i did, i think every scene involving both of them or the attacker and batiatus would be looked at through an entirely different lense with this knowledge.
I'm a bit disappointed that Lucretia and Oenomaus are gone. I really wanted to see Oenomaus kick major ass, but it never really happened. Good riddance to Asher, he was a good villain, but I think they were running short on storyline for him.
It will be interesting to see where they go from here. The new Spartacus started to grow on me in the later episodes.
