The original Kindle's battery is insane.

It seems to drain quite a bit when it's sleeping, which doesn't make much sense to me. If I'm actually reading it seems to last very well, yet if I leave it untouched for a day or two it's frequently completely run down when I open it up.

Oh wow.

I'd like to add that it hasn't been doing this in the last week or so, it's lasting much longer. Perhaps the battery is more "worn in" now and handles downtime better or maybe the recent firmware update helped fix something. Either way, I retract my complaint!
